Globus simplifies Multi-institutional data sharing
Globus Transfer, Globus Sharing
Researchers at the University of Kentucky have used Globus to transfer data for many years. The University, however, recognized the need for a mechanism to go beyond data transfer, with the need to also share research data critical for programs with other institutions.

CryoEM Data Management at Case Western University
CryoEM image data from the Titan Krios microscope has been transferred and shared using Globus among cryoEM users within and across institutes around the US. The Globus CLI (command line interface) has been used for automation and sync’ing data from the microscope as it gets generated. The solution integrates Globus with CWRU’s High Performance Computing infrastructure and a Panasas storage system.

Data Sharing in the NIH Intramural Program
Globus Sharing
The HPC facility at the National Institutes of Health’s Intramural campus has had a Globus endpoint since 2012. Globus is used routinely for data transfer along with other methods, but the Globus data-sharing capabilities in particular have been enthusiastically embraced by the NIH HPC users.
